Best Asia Album On Earth

English supergroup Asia formed in 1981, comprising John Wetton, who had previously been a member of bands such as King Crimson, UK, Wishbone Ash, Roxy Music and Uriah Heep, Steve Howe, who had made his name with progressive rock outfit Yes, Geoff Downes, who had been one of The Buggles and was briefly with Yes, and Carl Palmer, who had drummed with Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Atomic Rooster and The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown. They emerged in 1982 with great success, topping the USA charts with their debut album, and scoring an international hit single with Heat Of The Moment. Their 1983 follow up was also a success, although since then they have relied on their loyal fanbase and powerful live shows to keep going. John Payne, lead singer from 1991, formed his own version of the band, Asia Featuring John Payne, in 2007, after Geoff Downes reunited with the original line-up.
