Best Bob Marley Song On Earth

Bob Marley is unquestionably the most important reggae artist of all time, and one of the key figures in music history. He came to prominence as the lead singer of The Wailers, a group that formed in 1963 and also featured future stars Bunny Wailer, Peter Tosh and Junior Braithwaite. They achieved strong success in Jamaica during the 60s, recording many tracks for producer Coxsone Dodd. The Wailers achieved some local popularity, but nothing that would have predicted the lasting impact that Marley would have on music. In the late 60s and early 70s Bob Marley & The Wailers started to define their trademark sound, with the help of producer Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry. The group was then signed by Chris Blackwell of Island Records, and with its 1973 debut for the label, Catch A Fire, it changed the face of Jamaican music. Although the group would have more commercially successful albums, it was this one that saw their music packaged in the same way as a rock album, and that brought it to the attention of the wider world. Throughout the remainder of the 70s and into the early 80s, Marley sold millions of records, and was responsible for writing many timeless songs. He has influenced countless subsequent artists around the world, and across many genres, and his music continues to inspires millions of music fans.
