Widely acknowledged as one of his generation’s leading New Traditionalists, country singer-songwriter Brad Paisley began performing at an early age. A talented guitar player he was appearing on WWVA’s Wheeling Jamboree show as a teenager. Paisley landed a recording contract shortly after finishing his education, and made an immediate impact with his 1999 debut spawning two chart-topping singles. The album revealed Paisley to be a wry operator, mixing up traditional country and pop melodies with plenty of humour and sly digs at mainstream culture. His subsequent albums have all performed well on the mainstream charts as well as topping the country listings, establishing Paisley as one of the most consistent and popular country stars of his generation.
