After a couple of low-key singles for Oasis Records in Munich, Germany, Donna Summer shot to international stardom in the mid-70s with the groundbreaking electro-disco of Love To Love You Baby. A platinum seller, the track ensured that Summer reunited with old Oasis pal Giorgio Moroder two years. Together, they created the pulsating classic I Feel Love - another chart smash. After achieving another four more USA chart-toppers, Summer linked up with a fledgling outfit run by one David Geffen, and because of it she began to be distinctly more soul- and gospel-orientated. The hits kept on coming, notably On The Radio, She Works Hard For The Money and Dinner With Gershwin. She was nowhere near as successful in the 90s as she was previously, although a reunion with Moroder for Carry On earned her a Grammy in 1997 and in 2008, she returned to the USA top 20 when her first album in 17 years Crayons, debuted at number 17.
