Few people even vaguely interested in music would not be familiar with the remarkable Clapton, probably the greatest of the guitar heroes of the 60s, (although he would cite Jimi Hendrix as the master) Clapton's career from The Yardbirds, John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers, Cream to Blind Faith is but one amazing chapter. His solo life started after the demise of Derek & The Dominos in 1970. At that time, it is well documented, Clapton was addicted to heroin and it was not until a healthy Clapton delivered the magnificent 461 Ocean Boulevard that his 2nd chapter truly began. Clapton had found his voice, and his fluid playing slowly came back to him. Now, as one of the elder statesmen of rock, and founder of the Crossroads Centre for rehabilitation, he commands a following all over the world. Essentially it is his guitar technique, still as good as ever, that brings in the crowds, and is still his greatest passion.
