Best Phil Collins Album On Earth

Phil Collins stepped out from behind the drum kit to assume vocal duties for Geneisi, following Peter Gabriel's departure in 1975, bringing a more succinct pop sensibility, and turning the band from a prog rock cult outfit into mainstream megastars. Collins also launched a successful solo career as a pop singer in the early-80s, releasing a string of multi-platinum albums, commercially peaking with 1985's No Jacket Required, which shifted over 10 million copies in the USA alone. He maintained his commitment to Genesis until 1996, although he and Gabriel returned for a 1999 Genesis reunion. Collins also branched out in soundtrack work, penning the score to the successful Disney animated film, Tarzan, and formed a big band to perform jazz versions of his many hits.
