Best Pink Floyd Album On Earth

The precious 20 minutes or so that the Pink Floyd (minus Syd Barrett) performed together with Roger Waters on stage in 2005 after years of acrimony was an emotional event. Their musical history is varied and mostly magnificent. From the days of whimsy psych pop, moving into space rock with Meddle and Ummagumma and finally arriving as a true 'rock' band with the immortal Dark Side Of The Moon and Wish You Were Here. In between there are acres of space and quality to be savoured. If there were any hints of a further reunion, that was dealt a cruel blow by the death of Rick Wright in 2008. Every progressive or psychedelic band since 1967 has to cite Pink Floyd as a major influence, they were that important.
