Best Radiohead Song On Earth

Radiohead are now quite rightly regarded as one of the greatest bands of all time. Since 1993's Pablo Honey they have been consistently brilliant whilst constantly pushing their musical boundaries. In The Bends, OK Computer and Kid A they have produced 3 of the best albums ever made, and their still-growing back catalogue includes so many amazing tracks. Radiohead formed in 1985, whilst the members were attending Abingdon School in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, England. They started life as On A Friday, before changing their name in 1991. Their early performances earned them a record deal with EMI's Parlophone Records label, and their debut release came in the form of 1992's Drill EP. Their debut album the following year received encouraging reviews, and reached number 22 in the UK, boosted by some excellent singles. The Bends in 1995 made them stars overnight. This flawless guitar pop album stunned fans and critics, and was hailed as one of the year's best releases. They followed this up with the equally impressive, more experimental OK Computer two years later. The USA was somewhat slower to embrace Radiohead, but this all changed with Kid A in 2000. In a drastic change of style, the album barely contained a single guitar. The record divided critics, but topped virtually every major chart, including the USA. Their bold experimental journey continued with Amnesiac in 2001, as they incorporated elements of electronica, jazz, classical and ambient styles. Subsequent albums have seen them retain their experimental side, but also return to a more guitar-based sound. However, they continue to prioritise their art over commercial incentive, and this was emphasised when 2007's In Rainbows was initially issued exclusively as a download through their official website, inviting fans to pay whatever they wanted for it. They are one of the most acclaimed bands of the modern era, having already produced at least two albums that are now widely considered all time classics.
