Vote for the best songs by Brooklyn-based indie rock band The National!
The National formed in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1999, but is now based in Brooklyn, New York. The band’s music, which is a dark, atmospheric take on alt-country and roots rock, with elements of indie, post-punk and post-rock, has received widespread critical acclaim. A band noteworthy for among other things, containing two sets of twins, and numbering among its members the multi-talented Dessner brothers who have worked in collaboration with the likes of David Byrne, Feist and Grizzly Bear, it was not surprising that the The Boxer, in 2007, was hailed as one of the year’s finest albums, and provided the band with its commercial breakthrough.
