Chris Squire is best known as the bassist and the longest serving member (having played on all of its albums) of the famed English progressive rock band Yes. As well as a career in Yes he has worked with other artists such as Eddie Harris, Rick Wakeman and World Trade. He recorded his debut solo album Fish Out Of Water in 1975. It has become something of a classic in progressive rock circles and is often counted as one of the best prog rock albums of the 70s. Two follow-up solo albums were released in 1981 and 2007. Squire is an exceptional bassist with a sometimes brutal style, yet he can also be melodic and highly technical. Squire’s individual style of bass playing has a distinctive tone that is immediately recognisable as his signature sound, no matter what musicians he surrounds himself with.
